      Whatcha workin on?

      Hey guys,

Just a fun thread to see what you'all are doing in your garages right now. We all have punch lists on our cars, what are you trying to get done right now?

I'm getting ready to do the dreaded 1 piece rear main seal. I'm going to build the DIY wooden car stands to prep for it. I have the seal, instal kit and the crank repair sleeve. Nothing like 8 hours of labor to install a $20 part. I'll take some pics when I get it going. A buddy of mine is coming in town the weekend of Dec 8th to help. I figure this is definelty a 2 man job.

      What you got going???

I got a punch list for my "finished" 80 Camaro LS3/4L60E swap.

      2. Better floor insulation.
      3. New wipers.
      4. Final welding on the tail pipes.
      5. Reglue the head liner.
      6. Adjust e-brake cables.
      7. Adjust the Lokar shifter.

62 Pontiac Catalina. In the brainstorming stage right now. pretty certain I'll be going with an LS/6sp setup. Still trying to decide on suspension...possibly using a C4 IRS for the rear. If anyone here has done this on an eary B-body with a parameter frame I'd love some advice/pics.

'67 Camaro true RS/SS but drive train long gone. It's going to get an LSx, T56, 12 bolt drive train; composite leafs, Watts link (maybe sway bar depending on exhaust), Hotchkis SFCs rear suspension; ATS AFX spindles, SPC UCA/LCA, Hotchkis sway bar front suspension; C5 front/LS1 Camaro rear disk brakes with Hydraboost. Virtually all parts are in hand. Just starting to do brake and fuel plumbing. Goal is to see what I can do without taking it past the place that some future owner - should they want to - could restore to stockish.Name: 20231105_165125.jpg

69 Camaro, complete interior replacement/rehab, and a vintage air install.
When that's done I can get back to finishing the exhaust on my 70 camaro.

      72 Camaro

I'm swapping the engine in my 72 Camaro, taking out the 383 and installing an L8T 6.6 direct injected V8. I'm installing a Texas Speed cam, springs, and pushrods. It's also getting an LT2 intake and, Holley oil pan. Name: 409594385_258558930566841_4648894405407015816_n.jpg

I pulled the tranny, installed the 1 piece rear main seal. Yep, it still leaks. The rear main seal is so damn tight, i spent a long time trying to get it started all the way around gently and ultimatley couldn't do it. I had to drive it in harder than I wanted to. So next time I am going to have to drop the pan and then the rear main cap. It's frustrating because I have to drop the steering support along with the rack and pinion to get the pan far enough out of the way to get at the cap.

      New Exhaust

Summit exhaust only took 2 days to arrive! Too bad only 20F tomorrow. Maybe next week I'll try to crawl under the Camaro.

PS - good luck with that rear main. I used pvc pipe and a block of wood to install mine.

Switching out my external fuel pump for an internal one. I've been boiling fuel so it's time to make the swap.

Got my Camaro punch list done.
The only keeping me from taking it for a cruise is the 2-3 inches of snow last night and the predicted 3-5 inches starting Sunday night.

I spent what felt like a lifetime getting the internal pump installed. Pulled the fuel tank, had to switch supply and return lines, gauled one of the aluminum plugs that the manufacture put in waaaay to tight, spent 2 hours fighting that, finally got it out. Redid the mount for the external fuel filter and regulator, redid all of the lines, reran the wiring for the pump, new tank vent line, etc... Took a bit but she is up and running perfect.

Next will be to seal the trunk from the cockpit. I am getting alot of exhuast smell in the car, time to seal it up.
